A recognition is an official or noteworthy award, rating, honor, distinction, or other certification bestowed regularly by its giver upon a recipient for a specific or general reason.
The bestower gives the recognition for a particular or general reason under its recurring practice. The recipient and the reason for the honor distinguish a bestowal from an unsupported claim of merit.
A recognition can have an associated date and, where the system provides it, a point score. A score is not required for every form of recognition.
