Components of a structure's mechanical systems that improve usability, comfort, safety, or internal transportation.
Mechanical features are components of a structure's mechanical systems which enhance the structure's usability. They include various forms of safety protection, comfort enhancement, and transportation devices.
The component belongs to an operating mechanical system. It can support comfort or movement as well as protection, without being limited to one kind of equipment.
An ornamental feature contributes decoration, while a mechanical feature contributes to the operation or usability of the structure. Equipment and its architectural enclosure can have these different functions.
