Restrooms are primarily toilet facilities, often with additional accommodation for washing, showering, changing clothes, or changing diapers. Because the vast majority of buildings include restrooms, listing them as a side usage would add little information; therefore this is only allowed as a main usage, and is applied to buildings where it is the primary function.

Toilet provision is the primary function; washing and changing facilities can accompany it. Ordinary restroom space within a building of another main use has the exclusion stated above.

Female, male, and unisex restrooms distinguish the designated users of those facilities. They retain the same requirement concerning a primary building function.
