A funerary chapel is a house of worship used primarily for funeral services, wakes, memorial services, and similar ceremonies for the dead. Also sometimes called a "cemetery chapel", these are very often located in cemeteries or near graves.

A parish church should never be classified as a funeral chapel (or any other kind of chapel), even though many such churches have graveyards beside them. There may however be a separate funeral chapel on the grounds of a parish church.

This designation does not apply to a funeral parlor.
