competition entry
An architectural design submitted to a competition and left unbuilt because it was not selected for development.
A competition entry is a designed structure which was submitted to an architectural competition but not selected for development. The winning or selected entry is not classified as a competition entry, but is assigned its appropriate status like any other announced project.
The unsuccessful selection outcome distinguishes this design from the competition winner. Submission alone does not determine the status of a selected project.
The design belongs to the unbuilt group. A vision differs in having had no reasonable expectation of construction from its release.
