Pathways are distinct routes used for guided movement, including transportation of persons, animals, vehicles, cargo, fluids, gases, power, information, etc. Some pathways may be grouped among points of entry if their main purpose is to provide an interface at a simple point.
The route can carry a physical traveler or a flow such as water, power, or data. It therefore need not be a walkway or a road.
A point of entry identifies an interface between places. A pathway describes the route of movement, which can extend beyond that interface.
