playroom

An indoor area for children to play in, which is shared by tenants or users of a building.

A playroom is an indoor space designated and furnished for children's play. As a tenant amenity, it must be available for common use by the residents or users of at least one major usage zone of the building it belongs to (therefore it does not refer to rooms inside residential units).

Playrooms serve a purpose similar to that of playgrounds, except that they are located indoors and tend to feature corresponding play equipment, such as toys and games.

The indoor location and provision for children's play distinguish the space from an outdoor playground. The shared-access requirement also separates the amenity from a playroom within an individual dwelling, even when the private room contains similar toys or games.
