A company hired to supervise or check the work of contractors on a construction site.
A construction auditor is a company hired to check or oversee the work of companies involved in the construction of a building.
The auditor checks or oversees work carried out by other companies on the construction project. The object of the review is their building work, rather than an audit of the eventual occupants' activities.
A general contractor hires and usually oversees specialist subcontractors. Construction auditing identifies the separate checking or oversight assignment, without requiring the auditor to hire those contractors or execute their work.
