ship traffic

A site or structure that materially supports boats or ships traveling between places, including raising, guiding, or carrying them.

Ship traffic is the travel of ships or any other boats from one place to another destination. Structures which support this movement materially are assigned this as a usage, including any structure which raises, guides, or carries ships or boats on the way to their destination.

Small boats are included alongside ships. A structure can support the journey by carrying or raising the craft, not only by providing a channel.

Boat docks provide mooring, and boat storage provides longer-term storage. Ship traffic concerns movement toward a destination.
