A company is any business, group, organization, or individual, especially one which fulfills a specifically defined role with regard to a structure or group of structures. Each company is shown with data and a portfolio of structures, which it is connected to in any of various defined roles.

The entity can be an individual as well as a business or organization. Its connection with a structure follows the particular role it performs there.

One company can perform different roles on different objects or several roles on the same object. Those connections describe its involvement without requiring its identity to be limited to one function.
