A wine bar is a place where customers are sold glasses of wine from behind a counter, with a minimal selection (if any) of other types of alcoholic beverages.
Wine is served by the glass rather than only sold in packaged bottles to take home. Other alcoholic drinks must remain a minimal part of the selection.
Wine tasting is organized around sampling and judging wines. The wine bar instead serves glasses as drinks.
