ice cream shop
A stand or eatery where ice cream or ice cream confections are sold at a counter.
An ice cream shop is a place which sells ice cream or other dishes using ice cream from behind a counter. There may or may not be customer seating within the establishment.
Ice cream shops may offer related confections such as frozen yogurt or flavored ice, but shops specializing in those should be listed under their respective usages (frozen yogurt shop and flavored ice shop).
The customer obtains the ice cream at a counter. A parlor provides sit-down table service; the mere presence of seats does not turn a counter-service shop into that restaurant form.
