dock access

Direct frontage on a boat dock on a navigable waterway, allowing passenger or cargo transfer.

An object has dock access when it fronts directly on a boat dock located on a navigable waterway (such as a canal, river, lake, or ocean).

Unlike boat slips, a dock is not necessarily for long-term parking or storage of boats, but allows boats or ships to stop for passenger boarding or cargo loading.

Direct dock frontage is required; being near a waterway alone is insufficient. The dock can support short stops for boarding or loading without providing the longer-term boat accommodation associated with slips.
