An ice hockey facility is a place with one or more rinks designed for ice hockey, a team sport played on an ice surface by players wearing skates and trying to shoot a heavy disk (puck) into a netted goal at the opposing team's end using a long stick with a flat blade at its end.

A hockey rink is normally surrounded by a wall of boards. The two goals are set up slightly forward of the end walls, with room to skate behind them.

The ice surface, skates, and puck distinguish the game from floorball, which is played on foot with a ball. Inline hockey uses a puck on a dry surface with wheeled skates, so a similar goal arrangement does not make the playing surfaces interchangeable.
