regional mall
A large, clearly defined group of shops with at least one major department, clothing, housewares, or general store as an anchor.
A regional mall is a very large grouping of shops with at least one department store or major clothing, housewares, or general store as an anchor. It may be enclosed or arranged around outdoor walkways. The collection of stores must be well-defined as a recognizable single grouping; loose concentrations of unrelated stores do not count as a mall.
The stores can be indoors or linked by outdoor walkways. A roof over the whole shopping route is not required.
At least one major anchor is required, unlike a strip mall. An unrelated concentration of shops without one recognizable grouping does not qualify.
