suspended cableway
A continuous route over which cables are suspended above ground for any purpose.
A suspended cableway is a continuous pathway formed by cables suspended over the ground. The cables may be electrified or not; they can contain fiber optics or serve as a mechanical connection.
Suspended cableways may be used for telecommunications, cablecar traffic, ziplining, or other purposes.
The suspended route can carry information, electrical power, or a mechanical connection. Passenger transport is one application, so a cableway need not carry cabins or other vehicles.
