A structural wood fabricator is the company which manufactures wood beams, posts, planks, boards, sheets, or other wooden components used in the load-bearing structural framework of a building or other structure.

The wooden component forms part of the structural framework. Its load-bearing use is the defining condition, whether the component is a beam, a post, or one of the board or sheet products described above.

Wood used as a floor finish has a different function from wood in the framework. A flooring manufacturer supplies the usable surface over the structural floor; the material alone does not establish structural wood fabrication.
