natural gas extraction
An installation extracting fossil natural gas from underground for heating, fuel, or other uses elsewhere.
A natural gas extraction site is a place where fossil methane gas is removed from underground for any use elsewhere, including heating, motor fuel, or chemical products.
The gas is removed from a natural underground deposit. Its destination can be combustion or manufacture of chemical products; one particular end use is not required.
Natural gas distribution routes gas after extraction. Storage or distribution of gas brought from elsewhere is distinct from removing it from the deposit.
