A building plan with seven discernible principal sides meeting at convex angles, with unequal sides permitted.
A heptagonal building plan has a perimeter with seven sides meeting each other at convex angles. The sides do not have to be equal, and the shape can have small irregularities such as protrusions and indentations, as long as seven principal sides remain easily discernible.
Seven main sides must remain evident in the overall outline. Their lengths can differ, and small projections or indentations do not necessarily add a principal side.
A hexagon has six principal sides and an octagon has eight. Local notches are assessed as details of the seven-sided outline rather than automatically changing its side count.
