Diplomatic facilities are spaces where one country is represented in another country, or where a country holds a mission to an international body such as the United Nations. These include office space, reception rooms and ceremonial spaces, spaces for various services, and security facilities.

The diplomatic mission supplies the purpose of the spaces. Offices and ceremonial rooms can belong to the same mission, as can service areas and the security facilities supporting them.

An embassy is the chief diplomatic facility, while a separate subordinate consulate has its own designation. A foreign ministry is the national executive department responsible for foreign affairs and is a different governmental use.
