A product testing facility is a place where manufactured products or components, or new or old technologies or inventions, are subjected to extended usage, experimental conditions, extreme circumstances, or other conditions in order to prove their worth or to find any shortcomings in them.

Testing can concern an established product as well as a new invention. The intended work is to assess performance or expose shortcomings under selected conditions; routine use of the same product elsewhere does not establish a testing facility.

The equipment and space depend on the product being assessed. An elevator testing facility, for example, accommodates trials in a shaft, including one in a converted structure.
