volleyball
A facility with a court divided by a standing net for volleyball, including informal court arrangements.
Volleyball is a sport played by two teams of six players each on opposite sides of a standing net. By knocking the ball without stopping it, each team tries to prevent it from landing on the ground on its own side while also attempting to make it land on the ground on the other side.
A standard court is 18 meters long by 9 meters wide, bisected by a net forming two 9-meter squares; however the game is often played on informal courts, which may be set up without clear boundaries. It can be played on a hard or soft surface, including grass. It is generally not listed as a usage when volleyball courts are only tenant amenities and not available to persons not otherwise using the building.
Beach volleyball is a separate sports usage, with different rules.
