rehabilitation center
A place for restorative exercise and treatment following illness, surgery, or trauma.
A rehabilitation center is a place where patients and former patients go for physical therapy, special exercise, psychological rehabilitation, or any other treatment designed to restore their well-being after an illness, surgery, or trauma involving loss of function. It may or may not include rooms for overnight stays.
The service addresses recovery of function after illness, surgery, or trauma. Physical and psychological rehabilitation can both contribute.
Overnight accommodation is optional. A center can provide visits only or combine rehabilitation with rooms for patient stays.
