A main entrance is approached from outside by climbing down one or more stairs.
An entrance approach is described as 'stairs down' when one or more pedestrian main entrances to a built object are reached from outside by climbing down one or more stairs. These stairs may be right at the entrance, or some distance away on the same property.
The direction is measured while approaching the entrance from outside. A descent on the same property contributes to that approach even when it is some distance from the doorway.
Ramp down describes descent on an inclined surface rather than steps. An approach can contain different forms along the full route to the entrance.
