design not chosen in competition

A design in an architectural competition fails to be selected as an active proposal.

An envisioned design ends its competition phase without turning into a proposal when, either, it is not selected as the winner, or when it does win but the contest does not lead to an active proposal. This event locks the structure into the competition entry status unless some unusual event later turns it into an active proposal.

The event includes both an unsuccessful entry and a winning design when the contest produces no active proposal. The competition result alone does not determine whether the design enters planning.

Design wins competition requires official selection that leads to a serious proposal. A later unusual development can still bring a previously inactive competition design into an active proposal.
