SKYDB Object ID
A unique numeric string of up to nine digits, automatically assigned to identify one object in the SKYDB system.
The SKYDB Object ID is a unique string of numerals up to 9 digits long, which is used to represent any object in the SKYDB system, including a built object, company, or place. As any real world object is considered unique for purposes of data handling, it is represented with a single SKYDB Object ID. A SKYDB Object ID is automatically assigned for any listed object at the moment of its listing in the SKYDB system.
The identifier belongs to the object's identity in SKYDB and is assigned when it is listed. Its role is to identify that object independently of the names by which it may be known.
An external register can assign a different identifier to the same real-world subject. Such references are separate keys; they do not replace the SKYDB Object ID or establish that the two systems use the same numbering scheme.
