elevator manufacturer
A manufacturer of elevator cabs, controls, and lifting systems used in a structure.
An elevator manufacturer is the company which fabricates and supplies the major elevator hardware currently in use within a structure. The assignment of the company to any particular structure may change when the elevators are replaced. This is not necessarily the same company which provides ongoing elevator maintenance.
Very often (but not always) the elevator manufacturer for a structure is the same company as its escalator manufacturer.
The hardware includes the elevator cab, controls, and lifting system. Interior paneling and custom finishes are the concern of elevator finishing, which can be supplied separately from the major machinery. The manufacturer of that machinery and the firm furnishing the cab can therefore be different companies.
