An engineering award is a prize, trophy, plaque, or other recognition bestowed for excellence in engineering for a construction or renovation project. Recipients are usually connected with a project that overcame special challenges through creative or innovative engineering. It is most often presented to the structural, civil, MEP, or other engineer, but it can also be given to the owner, developer, to the completed project itself, or to any other appropriate recipient.

The recognized achievement concerns engineering work on the project. The honor can belong to an engineer, another involved party, or the completed work itself.

An architectural award concerns excellence in the building arts and design. An engineering award specifically recognizes the engineering achievement, even when the same project has architectural merits.
