home sales center
A place where individual homes, usually from a single development, are sold directly to customers.
A home sales center is an office, storefront, trailer, or other place where homes are sold directly to buyers. These are usually associated with very large developments containing many residential units (for example a large condominium building). Many home sales centers are set up temporarily, often within or near construction sites, and are shut down when most of the homes in the development have been sold.
Sales centers often contain mock-ups of typical home interiors within a development, allowing prospective buyers to visualize their homes even before they are built. Very often the sales center will move into a completed unit as soon as one becomes ready.
The staff in a home sales center normally represent the developer or current owner of the development. This usage should not be confused with a real estate agency, where the staff are brokers or other intermediaries between the buyer and the seller.
This usage is similar to a home leasing center. In some instances both usages may be combined in the same space.
