floor installation
A contractor which installs usable coverings over the floorplates throughout a building.
A floor installation company is a contractor which installs usable surfaces over the floorplates of a building. This role does not apply to the company which builds the structural floorplates, nor does it apply to carpeting installers. In most cases these companies create sheets or tile coverings over a structural floorplate.
The installed product is the usable surface above the structural floor plate. Sheets and tiles are common forms of that covering, without limiting the work to one material.
A floor plate contractor constructs the structural plate below the finish, and a flooring manufacturer supplies flooring materials. The express carpet exclusion also distinguishes this installation role from carpet laying.
