business park
A planned and jointly serviced cluster of firms' office, research, laboratory, or light-industrial premises.
A business park is a planned site let to several firms, with roads, parking and services held in common. It groups the complexes and buildings used for offices, research, laboratories or light industry, usually in low buildings set back from the road with landscaped ground between them.
The site is developed and managed as a unit, which is what separates a business park from an ordinary collection of office buildings in a city center.
Where the site is given over to manufacturing, storage or goods traffic, use the industrial estate. Where offices and housing are mixed by plan, use the mixed-use development.
