A real estate agency is a retail-like office where real estate agents or brokers provide customer service. This applies to offices specializing in residential and/or commercial real estate.

This should not be confused with a home sales center, which generally sells homes within a limited development, and where the staff represent the owners or developers directly.

The office can serve residential property, commercial property, or both. Its customer-facing brokerage role distinguishes it from the direct developer sales represented by a home sales center.
