A residential development groups several housing complexes built under one scheme, which in most cases carry one name and were marketed together. Shops, schools and leisure buildings may belong to it as long as housing is the main use.

Lohas Park in Hong Kong is recorded this way, with Malibu, Marini, Hemera and the other podium complexes below it, each holding its own towers.

Where the plan gives equal weight to other uses, use the mixed-use development. Where it also fixes roads, schools and public space for a whole new settlement, use the masterplanned community.
