A mosque is a structure built originally as a house of worship in the Islamic faith. Unless it has been repurposed, it normally has the usage "mosque" as well.

Although mosque buildings take a wide variety of forms, they generally include a large open space for worship, often covered with a dome. Ornamental details in mosques generally avoid human and animal figures and often use geometric or plant-based designs, reflecting Islamic traditions concerning idolatry and religious imagery.

Mosque buildings often feature minarets at their corners or outside the building perimeter. If the minarets are physically connected to the central mosque structure, they should be included as part of the same building.
