roof-mounted billboard
A large advertising sign mounted on a structure's roof or upper surface, excluding signs that merely identify the site.
A roof-mounted billboard is a large advertising sign, usually with the capacity to replace the content easily, which is mounted onto the roof, peak, or upper surface of a structure. If mounted to the structure's side, it should be classified as a wall-mounted billboard.
Billboards do not include logos, signs, or other features used to identify what is actually there on the site.
The mounting surface distinguishes the billboard from its wall-mounted counterpart. A site-identifying illuminated logo is excluded from billboards even when it is large or prominently displayed.
