A developer's agent who coordinates the activities of construction contractors and design teams.
A project manager is a company which represents the developer or owner as a liaison between construction companies or contractors and design firms (including architects and engineers) to ensure that a building's construction proceeds according to the project owner's specifications.
The company acts for the developer or owner in dealings with the construction and design teams. Its coordination is directed toward the owner's specifications for the building project.
A general contractor hires and usually oversees specialist subcontractors. Project management identifies the owner-facing liaison function, while construction auditing concerns checking or overseeing the contractors' work.
