A gurdwara is a Sikh temple, a place dedicated to religious ceremonies and worship in Sikhism. Gurdwaras are found primarily in the Punjab region of India.
The religious dedication and ceremonies establish the Sikh use. A gurdwara can serve its congregation outside Punjab as well as within it.
The worship space can be accompanied by facilities for learning and communal meals. Those associated services do not replace its religious function.
