smoke exhaust system
Ducts or other outlets designed to carry smoke or cooking fumes out of a building.
Passive smoke exhaust is normally installed around kitchens where some smoke or cooking fumes are expected. An active smoke exhaust system may include openable skylights (often in hallways, corridors, or lobbies) or other vents, and can be activated by emergency controls or automatic detection.
