Vertical positions of objects or reference points measured above, below, or at mean sea level.
Elevations are precise positions of objects or structures with reference to Mean Sea Level (MSL). An elevation can be above, below, or at Mean Sea Level.
Elevations are measured in the same units as length, height, depth, and thickness.
A structure's base and its roof can each have an elevation. Their vertical separation is a height; the elevation of either point also depends on its position relative to mean sea level.
