The number of outdoor parking spaces belonging to a particular object is the subset of the total number of parking spaces assigned to users of that object which are entirely unsheltered, either on the grounds surrounding the object or on a terrace or patio or plaza on or around it.

Every parking space belongs to exactly one of these categories, so the subsets add up to the number of parking spaces. A count that does not add up means a space was classified twice or missed.

The disabled spaces are the exception: they are counted here and again in whichever location category they sit in, so they are not part of that sum.

Spaces on a lot the building does not own are not counted, however close they are and however much its tenants use them.
