A university space is a building or other area which is used for classes, seminars, academic research, or supporting educational functions in an institution of higher learning. As opposed to a college, a university is an institution which offers both undergraduate and postgraduate courses of study. Buildings such as dormitories, university office buildings, and university libraries are not listed as university buildings.
The institution provides undergraduate and postgraduate education. A college has the narrower undergraduate-only educational range.
Classrooms and educational study spaces are distinct from the institution's separately functioning dormitories, administrative offices, and libraries. University ownership does not make all of those spaces classrooms.
