A place which dispenses and sells prescription drugs and special medications.
A pharmacy is a store or dispensary staffed by professional pharmacists, where special medical supplies and prescription drugs are kept behind a counter and sold to persons entitled to receive them. Pharmacists generally measure out the prescribed drugs according to a doctor's instructions, and package them for the patient or customer.
Pharmacies are often located in hospitals, medical clinics, drugstores, supermarkets, and hypermarkets. In such cases they can be added as an additional usage.
Professional pharmacists staff the dispensing location. A pharmacy can exist within a larger store or medical facility without occupying an independent building.
