stacking racks
A shelving area where objects are stacked on top of each other within the framework of a large rack.
Stacking racks are a form of storage in which objects are placed on shelves with high clearance so that multiple items can be stacked on top of each other. Items on stacking racks rest directly on the shelf, not on a pallet.
The shelf clearance permits several items to be stacked vertically. The items rest directly on the shelves rather than on transport pallets.
Pallet racking keeps the load on a platform for mechanical handling. The absence of that pallet beneath the stored items distinguishes stacking racks here.
