outdoor station

Any combination of platforms, stairs, shelters, and other elements forming an open-air transit station.

An outdoor station is a primarily unenclosed construction consisting of any number of platforms, waiting areas, stairways, tunnels, overpasses, shelters, and other contributing elements which form an open-air station for some medium of transportation. These include railroad stations, ferry stations, bus stations, and other station types.

The station combines the elements needed for passengers to use a transport service. A platform alone can be one component without describing the whole station.

Shelters, tunnels, or covered portions can occur within a primarily unenclosed station. The form does not require every part to be roofless.
