primary lot number

An identification number or character string representing a land parcel, usually a holding traded as one unit.

A primary lot number is an identification number or string of characters which represents a particular piece of land, usually defined as a single land holding which is owned, sold, or purchased as a unit.

This may be identical to the region type "land parcel", which is a geographical area with boundaries. This definition however refers to the identifying number, and is treated as a datafield rather than a region.

The identifier names the parcel within its reference system. A secondary lot number instead identifies a subdivision of that larger parcel.
