A school of education is a place where classes are taught and degrees are awarded at the university or postgraduate level in the study of education, either as an academic subject or in order to train and develop teachers.
The study can examine education as an academic subject or prepare students to teach. Both purposes are included.
A school teaching children is not a school of education merely because education takes place there. This use concerns higher-level study of education itself.
