destroyed by damage

Damage completely destroys a structure, leaving it demolished rather than partly standing in ruins.

A structure is destroyed by damage when an act of nature, war, accident, criminality, terrorism, or error causes it to be completely destroyed, to the point where its status is not in ruins but rather demolished.

The destruction is complete enough for the structure to be demolished. Damage leaving part of it standing in ruins does not meet this endpoint.

Natural events, accidents, war, criminal acts, terrorism, and error are included causes. A deliberate sanctioned demolition is a different event from destruction through these forms of damage.
