Any kind of damage or demolition is halted with part of the structure still standing.
Destruction of a structure is halted midway when any kind of damage or demolition is finished or halts without destroying the structure completely. Part of the structure is gone, and part of it still stands; thus this event triggers a change to the status "in ruins".
Part of the structure has been destroyed and part remains standing when the destructive process ends or stops. The event therefore describes an incomplete physical destruction.
The stopped process can be damage or deliberate demolition. A pause in demolition planning before any destruction occurs is a different situation.
