floor

Related terms: level · story · storey

An entire internal level of a building, bounded by its floorplate and the next floorplate or roof above.

A floor is an entire level of a building, between one floorplate and the next one (or the roof) above it.

The level includes the space between the horizontal boundaries, rather than only the lower slab. Rooms and other interior divisions can occupy parts of that same floor.

A floor is a module defined by its complete level within the building. An internal zone can instead describe another kind of interior division.
