Bulk storage of very fine wood particles produced by cutting or smoothing, for fuel, manufacturing, or other uses.
Sawdust storage facilities are places for bulk storage of very small particles of wood, normally derived from the cutting and smoothing of wood. Sawdust is used as a mulch, insulating material, fuel, cat litter, as a material in particleboard, and for other purposes.
The small particle form distinguishes sawdust from logs, milled lumber, and larger wood chips. The eventual use of the particles can vary.
Sawdust intended as fuel remains included alongside sawdust for mulch or manufacturing. The separate firewood storage definition excludes sawdust.
